This is a great video. I still haven’t watched the videos from the course yet (work gets in the way) but this is giving me incentive! Thanks (as usual) for making everything so clear.
Terrie
Thanks, Terrie. I see you’ve already made it over to Pinterest. Now stop working so hard and create a Yankee board – I know you’ll have TONS of stuff to pin!
Thanks so much for sharing this video, Jeanette! As a marketer of infoproducts, I wasn’t sure how to take advantage of Pinterest. This video explained it perfectly and now I know exactly how I can use Pinterest to grow my business.
I’m so glad it was helpful, Jenny. I am learning as fast as I can – and will continue to pass on lessons as we go. Happy Pinning!
Well worth watching! You explain it very clearly and I appreciate that – other videos can be very confusing. I understand that Pinterest is an invitation only membership – how does one get an invitation?
Elaine – I sent you an invite so look for it. Glad the video made it clear why you’d want to use Pinterest.
Jeanette,
Thank you for the update, I too was wondering how to do this for all types of affiliate programs. I will have to give it a try for Amazon. I had some difficulties with Amazon so I added Amazon astores to pin. Your way is simple.
Kathie
Really excellent, really a great look at Pinterest even for non-affiliates. I’m stumbling this one for you… thanks!
You explained it all so cleanly! What a gift!! Have you found that Pinterest will keep the affiliate link that you embedded? I know that they’re using their own affiliate links via Skimlinks. They claim that they will honor ours if we input them. I haven’t been able to see yet if that is indeed the case? What’s your guess here?
FYI, from Skimlinks’ interface: “By default, Skimlinks respects all your previous affiliate relationships & does not overwrite any pre-existing affiliate links in your content.”
So I assume that Skimlinks will add affiliate links to Pins that Pinners haven’t affiliated, but leave alone the ones we have.
Thanks, Rachel,
That’s very helpful to know. Let’s hope you’re right. I signed up to be a part of Skimlinks on one of my niche sites, but have yet to dig in and use the service yet. I’m terrified I won’t understand it, of course!! 🙂
Currently Pinterest seems to be going back and forth between using Skimlinks and not using them. It may have to do with a recent spam attack on Pinterest. I’m hoping they don’t use them in the long run, as it cuts out affiliate links. But without them, I’m not sure what Pinterest’s revenue model is.
VERY helpful video. So clear and easy to follow. I’ve needed to know this!!
Thanks for your kind words, Carol. Glad it cleared it up for you. We’re all learning the in’s and out’s of this new site as we go.
Cool video, Dude! Even I got it!
Here’s an article on using Pinterest for resumes and job searches…a little more specific to counseling.

Thanks!!!
Excellent – that’s a nice compliment, since I know you’re not a marketer.
And thanks for sharing that creative use of Pinterest for jobs hunting. I love new technologies – because people literally invent new uses as we watch!
Jeanette:
Thanks so much for the video. I was wondering how I could pin affiliate products on Pinterest. It is pretty obvious with books, but not as straight forward with digital products. As usual, you offer great information.
Always here to help. Being able to pin affiliate products is really important for those of us who make a living online! And look for even more information on this shortly – I found a plugin that will help even more.
I didn’t know you could edit the URL after the fact! This is very helpful; thank you!
