There’s a saying in marketing that it costs more to get a new customer than to keep the ones you have. The same may be true for bloggers. It pays to create a loyal following! Here are four tactics to help you achieve that goal.
#1 Be consistent. People generally like to know what to expect, particularly when it comes to frequency of blog posts. If you commit to posting every day, then find a way to make it happen.
People create habits around their blog reading and if you’re not there for a couple days with a new post, you could lose readers – they get out of the habit of reading your posts.
#2 Stay Focused. Your blog is presumably about a niche topic, so it’s important to stay on topic. It’s easy to want to expand your ideas, particularly when you’re running out of ideas to write on. Stay on topic and you’ll keep your readers coming back.
#3 Acknowledge comments and facilitate a discussion. One of the most rewarding aspects of owning a blog is when you’re able to create a meaningful discussion with your readers. This discussion starts with intriguing posts, comments you acknowledge with a thank you and a question. This gets the ball rolling.
#4 Keep it interesting. Eye catching blog post titles pull them in and interesting content will keep them reading. Be funny, be provocative, be controversial, be valuable, be something and do it well.
Building a loyal blog following is the key to generating profits and creating a name for yourself in your industry. The Blog Challenge is a great place to learn how to capture the attention of your audience and to keep them hooked. Join us!

I’m going to apply all of those tips in every one of my updates!
Loving the connections I’m making with the most awesome people I’ve met since taking on the #Blog30 Challenge!

Drat, I knew you’d say that, LOL consistency – well, here’s hoping the 30 day challenge will help ME get in that habit – thanks for the reminder, encouragement and THANX 4 the 30 day challenge.
Great tips! Thank you for all the support and encouragement you’re providing through #blog30.
These four tips should transform into the 30-day blogging challenge mantra! You’re really great at scaling down and pigeon-holing in on the action steps that will create a fruitful experience for all the #blog30 members. We appreciate you more than mere words can express! Thanks, Jeanette.
Hello from beautiful Montana:
I forget to comment on the comments. Now I know better, I will do better.
Have a great day.

Great tips, Jeanette. I love to acknowledge and even comment on the comments I get. I also always try to have the time to follow their link back to their blog so I can get to know them better and return the favor.
Great advice! Am always so grateful for the comments that I feel it’s my privilege to answer them 🙂
As usual you’re da boss..but let me ask you a question (so that I can facilitate discussion as you recommended…LOL).
We’ve been posting daily during these two challenges. Does that mean we’ve committed to posting every day forever. How do we wind down (so to speak) to get the readers used to a different frequency?
Terrie
Love the 30 day blog challenge and all of the creativity that it is unleashing in me!
Thanks for the great tips on building a loyal following.
Jeanette you have hit it on the head. I want to Thank You again for getting this challenge together. In reading your point above, #1 is being consistent. If followers get use to seeing you post every day, you gotta keep posting, every day! At the end of 30 days this doesn’t end. It’s the jump start to a New Beginning! Thanks again. See you in Minneapolis!
