In the 1970’s a popular series of television commercials ran staring Ella Fitzgerald shattering a wine glass. The thing was – you didn’t know whether it was her voice live in the studio or recorded on an audio cassette – Memorex(tm) was the brand.
To this day, we continue to refer to recorded materials as “memorex”. So our poll of the day is:
