Networked Blogs: You Need Followers
Posted by: | CommentsIn order for your blog to appear in the Networked Blogs application and to show in your Facebook account, there are two steps:
1. You need to confirm that you are the owner of the blog. If you added the code to your blog, it has probably already been verified.
If you are not technical, then just wait for the first 10 people to follow your blog.
2. I recommend you add the Networked Blogs widget to your blog in a prominent location. It makes it easier for people to see how to follow your blog. You’ll find the widget when you Edit your blog in Networked Blogs. Just copy that code and paste it into a text widget.
3. Invite friends to follow your blog in Networked Blogs. You can do that IN the Networked Blogs application, or you can send tweets or post to your Wall in Facebook.
If you want to follow someone’s blog on Networked Blogs, follow this easy process:
1. Log into your Facebook account.
2. Go to their blog and click on the Networked Blogs widget. (You can practice by clicking on my Networked Blogs widget there to your right.)
3. You’re finished!
If they don’t have the Networked Blogs widget, then just search for their blog URL in the Networked Blogs application. Once you find it, click to follow.

Your next step is to verify that you own the blog. While you can wait for 10 people to follow you, I found it faster to add the code they provide at Networked Blogs to my blog. Just set it up as directed and you’ll be verified in no time.
Networked Blogs: Why You Want To Use It
Posted by: | CommentsNetworked Blogs is one of the Facebook apps that applies to you, as a Blogger. So let’s review WHY you want to use the Networked Blog application.
Since Networked Blogs is integrated with Facebook, it means that once your blog “qualifies” it will appear on your Profile page. This is the page where your Wall appears.
Each time you post to your blog, it will show up on your Wall, along with a thumbnail of the blog post. So that automatically gives you another bit of fame and makes it stand out.
And of course, that means that it also shows in your friends’ news feed. So they see the image and the blog post.
You can also add a Blog tab to your profile. So anyone wanting to see your most recent blog posts can just click on the Blog tab right there at the top of your page.
Of course, for all of this magic syndication to take place, you first need to add your blog to the Networked Blogs application – and add that to your Facebook account.
In our next post, we’ll look at the HOW of setting up your Networked Blog.
